Get ready to unearth your true potential and dig into the exciting world of HEI Civil!We are looking to hire a Pipe Layer Helper to join our Dallas team!Responsibilities:Assist Pipe Layer and crew with installation of sanitary and stormwater sewer structures and pipe systemsHelp prepare pipe routes following specifications, blueprints, and supervisor directionSupport cutting, handling, and moving pipe materials of various sizes and materialsAssist in assembling, installing, and repairing underground pipe fittings and componentsHelp align and position pipes during pipeline constructionAssist in checking pipe slopes using levels, lasers, or other toolsSupport connecting pipe sections and sealing joints using approved methods and materialsHelp measure, cut, and prepare pipe for installationAssist in trench preparation, grading, and leveling bases using hand tools and equipmentBackfill and cover installed pipes with earth or other materialsAssist in general labor duties on the job site as neededMaintain a safe work environment and follow all company and OSHA safety standardsFollow directions from Pipe Layer, Foreman, and SuperintendentComply with company Employee Handbook policies and proceduresKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crewBasic understanding of construction site safety practicesWillingness to learn pipe laying techniques and trade skillsAbility to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environmentsOSHA 10 preferred (or willingness to obtain)Education and Experience:High school diploma or GED preferredPrior construction or general labor experience preferred, but not requiredEntry-level position; training provided on the job
