With that said, as required by local law, Highspring believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure to be between the range below. Highspring operates from more than 50 offices across the United States and continues to expand its global delivery capabilities through onshore, nearshore, and offshore models.Position SummaryThe Director, Technical Accounting will serve as a key financial leader responsible for overseeing the organization’s technical accounting function, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and internal policies. This role provides authoritative guidance on complex accounting issues, leads the preparation of technical accounting memos, and supports financial reporting, audit readiness, and policy development. This role requires a hands-on leader with experience in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment, preferably within consulting, professional services, or staffing.The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to build scalable processes, lead high-performing global teams, and partner cross-functionally to support growth.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & ComplianceOversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS which would include preparation of Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flows and Stockholders EquityEnsure timely and accurate financial reporting monthly across multiple global entitiesEnsure timely and accurate quarterly bank compliance reportingManage audits and regulatory compliance across jurisdictionsMaintain and enforce internal controls and accounting policiesDevelop and maintain accounting policies and procedures aligned with evolving standards and business needsGlobal Accounting OperationsLead day-to-day accounting functions including revenue recognition, lease accounting and fixed asset accountingOversee consolidation of international subsidiaries, including foreign currency considerationsEnsure proper accounting for complex staffing revenue streams (e.g., time & materials, fixed price, direct hire) and intercompany transactions both across geographies and revenue streamsCollaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Legal, Tax, FP&A) to assess accounting implications of business initiatives.Private Equity Reporting & SupportPartner with executive leadership and private equity stakeholders on financial reporting and performance metricsSupport board reporting, lender compliance, and covenant reportingAssist with M&A activities including due diligenc, integration, divestiture and corresponding accounting treatementProcess Improvement & SystemsOwn the quality and integrity of supporting schedules and workpapers, ensuring they are accurate, well‑controlled, and presented at a level suitable for external audit and executive review.Build and scale accounting processes to support cleanup of end-to-end accounting treatment from rapid growth and global expansionEvaluate and implement automation tools and reporting enhancementsDrive continuous improvement in close cycles and reporting accuracy mainly through the introduction of AI tools and time-saving initativesTeam LeadershipExhibit a proactive communication styleLead, mentor, and develop a global accounting teamFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementServe as a visible, positive leader who helps energize the team, reinforce a culture of trust and respect, and re‑establish momentum within the office.
