Information Technology Support Specialist
Equal Plus Consulting has been engaged to search for an IT Support Specialist to work on a contract/temporary basis for a client based in Turlock, California.Title: IT Support SpecialistContract/Temporary basis – 40 hours per weekStart Date: ASAPTerm: 3 monthsLocation: Turlock, CA – on-siteCandidates must be local and be able to interview and work onsite.No agencies or third partiesSUMMARYReporting to the IT Director, the IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end users while helping maintain the organization's desktop, mobile, and workplace technology environment. This role serves as the first point of contact for IT support requests and is responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, account access, and technology-related issues. The IT Support Specialist works closely with other IT team members to ensure users receive timely and professional support while contributing to the stability, security, and effectiveness of the organization's technology systems.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSEssential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, and business applications.Respond to support requests through the help desk ticketing system, phone, email, and in-person interactions.Troubleshoot and resolve workstation, laptop, mobile device, and peripheral issues.Escalate complex infrastructure, server, network, or application issues to engineering staff when appropriate.Follow established support procedures and service standards.User Account Administration:Create, modify, disable, and maintain user accounts and security groups.Assist with Active Directory and Microsoft 365 account administration.Support password resets, multi-factor authentication enrollment, and basic access management.Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities for employees and contractors.Maintain accurate user and access records.Endpoint Management:Configure, deploy, and maintain desktop and laptop systems.Assist with workstation imaging, provisioning, and deployment.Install, configure, and update software applications.Support mobile device enrollment and management.Maintain endpoint compliance with company security standards.Microsoft 365 Support:Provide end-user support for Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.Assist users with collaboration, file-sharing, and cloud-based productivity tools.Troubleshoot common Microsoft 365 issues and escalate advanced issues as needed.Asset & Inventory Management:Maintain hardware and software inventory records.Track asset assignments, warranty information, and lifecycle status.Assist with equipment deployment, replacement, and disposal activities.Maintain inventory accuracy across company locations.Documentation & Process Improvement:Create and maintain knowledge base articles and support documentation.Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and recurring issues.Identify opportunities to improve support processes and end-user experience.Contribute to technology standardization efforts.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESAssist with routine IT maintenance activities.Support conference room technology and audiovisual equipment.Coordinate with vendors on support issues and equipment orders.Additional duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSSkills & Competencies:Strong knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems.Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and services.Basic understanding of Active Directory and user account administration.Familiarity with computer hardware, peripherals, printers, and mobile devices.Basic knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, wireless networking, and VPN connectivity.Experience with endpoint deployment, imaging, and software installation.Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools.Experience with Microsoft Intune or mobile device management solutions is desirable.Previous MSP (Managed Service Provider) experience is preferred but not required.Experience supporting multiple locations or diverse technology environments is highly desirable.CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or similar certifications are desirable.Ability to:Have excellent customer service and communication skills.Have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Remain professional and patient when assisting users.Have strong verbal and written communication skills.Prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.Have strong organizational and documentation skills.Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new technologies.Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to supporting users.Be dependable, accountable, and detail-oriented.Experience and Training Guidelines:Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field;
