Structural Engineering Department Manager Location: Cincinnati, OH Compensation: Up to $180,000 + Sign-On Bonus Employment Type: Full-time About Us We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineering Department Manager to lead and grow a structural engineering division based in Cincinnati, OH. This role requires strong technical expertise, proven leadership ability, and the capability to oversee both people and complex industrial projects. Relocation support is available through a sign-on bonus. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage structural engineers, designers, and drafters. Oversee structural engineering deliverables for industrial and commercial projects including steel structures, concrete, foundations, buildings, and equipment supports. Ensure technical accuracy, quality control, and compliance with relevant structural codes. Collaborate with project managers and cross-discipline leads to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion. Develop staffing plans, allocate resources, and provide mentorship and performance guidance to team members. Maintain and enhance departmental standards, processes, and best practices. Build strong relationships through effective communication and technical leadership. Support proposal development, estimating, and other business development activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. Experience leading or managing a structural engineering team. Strong knowledge of structural design codes including AISC, ACI, and ASCE. Experience with industrial environments such as manufacturing, chemical, pulp and paper, or similar sectors. Proficiency with structural design and analysis software (STAAD, RISA, RAM, or equivalent). Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Structural Engineering. Professional Engineering (PE) license. Experience growing or developing engineering teams.
