Job Description Solaria Care is a licensed Pediatric Day Health and Respite facility, providing "specialized care, delivered with compassion and love" for children and adults who need high quality care. We are seeking a Part Time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a love for children, a willingness to play, and a compassionate heart. We are seeking someone for this role who is available at minimum on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.Job Summary: The licensed vocational nurse (LVN) will demonstrate loving, kind and compassionate nursing skills under the supervision of a registered nurse. They will provide skilled nursing care including assessments, medication administration, and other interventions as listed in the clients' plan of care.Reports To: Director of Nursing/FacilityAdministratorQualifications/Requirements:Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse license in good standing.MUST love working with children.2-3 Personal/Professional References.Successful completion of the Solaria Care LVN Competency Evaluation (will be completed in your first 90 days).1 year direct pediatric client care experience preferred.Ability to lift, carry, bend, walk and reach as needed to perform client care and/or transfer of client up to 50 lbs.Ability to administer medications to a variety of clients.Knowledge of diabetes management and seizure precautions.General understanding of common drugs, their effects, and their side effects.Knowledge of G-Tubes, trachs, and other specialized medical equipment.General understanding of the developmental stages of infants, children and adults.Ability to communicate effectively with other staff, clients, physicians, school teachers and general public.May be required to work overnights or weekends, depending on scheduling needs. 12. Clear criminal background check.A health examination within 90 days prior to employment or within 7 days of hire, to include a medical history and physical evaluation.Negative TB Test.Current BLS/First Aid Certification.Detailed Tasks:Provide direct care services under the direction of the supervising nurse to pediatric clients with special health care needs.Depending on staffing, may need to manage facility staff and staffing needs.Provide good customer service to our vendors and clients' families.Conduct client assessments, determine normal ranges for each client, and possess the critical skills to know when urgent care needs to be sought.Conduct medication management, including administration and charting.Must be able to manage a G-Tube, including placement checks replacement as needed.Ability to function as part of a team.Successfully complete and document facility sanitization.Perform typical housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, etc. in order to both maintain the facility and meet client needs.Compensation/Benefits:Hourly - $31-39 per hour, depending on education and experience.Paid Training - we take training seriously and will work to set you up for success.Paid Sick Leave - 40 hours per year.Paid Time Off - increasing with seniority up to 5 weeks per year.Healthy Living Benefit provides a stipend to assist with your medical expenses.401k Matching up to 4%.Employee Assistance Program.By applying to this job, you agree to receive periodic text messages from this employer and Homebase about your pending job application.
