This role offers the opportunity to work on projects of varying size and complexity in a fast-paced, multi-discipline, and practical engineering setting.EAD is looking for a Staff Structural Engineer. The Staff Structural Engineer supports industrial and manufacturing projects by delivering safe, accurate, and buildable structural engineering solutions for new and existing facilities. This role is best suited for a structural engineering generalist who can work across a wide range of industrial building and support systems, coordinate well with other disciplines, and thrive in brownfield environments where field conditions matter.What Success Looks LikeIn this role, success means:Delivering structural work on scope, on time, and on budgetProducing code-compliant, practical, and constructable solutionsWorking effectively across disciplines and with field realitiesBuilding versatility across industrial structural applicationsCommunicating clearly and owning commitmentsKey ResponsibilitiesPerform structural analysis, calculations, and design for industrial facilities and support systemsDevelop practical solutions for structural modifications in existing brownfield environmentsUse sound judgment in existing facilities where field conditions, undocumented changes, and constructability constraints require thoughtful evaluation and practical solutions.Support design of a broad range of structural elements such as wall, floor, and roof systems, platforms, mezzanines, equipment supports, foundations, and related industrial structuresConduct field investigations, verify existing conditions, and apply findings to designCoordinate with mechanical, process, electrical, architectural (when required), civil (when required), and other project team membersPrepare clear engineering deliverables, including calculations, sketches, markups, specifications, and support for drawing developmentParticipate in design reviews, quality checks, and constructability discussionsCommunicate proactively with project teams, clients, contractors, and vendorsSupport construction and installation questions as neededContribute to a safe working environment and follow EAD standardsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited institutionLicensed Professional Engineer (PE)Experience with structural analysis and applicable building codesExperience with OSHA requirementsExperience working with multi-discipline project teamsExperience with producing clear and concise engineering drawings and sketchesExperience with simple architectural furnishes (IMP, Roof and Wall Penetrations, Floor Coatings)Ability to produce clear, organized, and dependable engineering workWorking knowledge of design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis softwareStrong written and verbal communicationAbility to perform field work and maintain a valid driver's licenseAbility to interpret and utilize CMAA crane design requirements, FAA airport pavement requirements, FDA food safety requirements.Preferred QualificationsExperience in food, beverage, life sciences, or pharmaceutical environmentsExperience supporting cGMP areas or equipment support structuresExperience in existing-facility renovation, retrofit, and field-driven designBehavioral ExpectationsActs with integrity, sound judgment, and professionalismOwns commitments, follows through, and closes loopsCommunicates early and clearly when risks, questions, or changes ariseWorks in a way that helps the broader project team succeedBrings a practical, solution-oriented mindset to complex facility problemsSeeks to understand field conditions, client needs, and cross-discipline impacts before actingWorking ConditionsOffice, plant, or client site environment*Ability to sit and work at computer for extended periods of timeAbility to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces in extreme conditionsMay work near moving mechanical parts and equipment*Office, Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals*Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.*Periodic weekend, holiday or evening work as neededTravel required*EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal protective equipment as necessary.We strongly believe that diversity of experience, perspectives, and background will lead to a better workplace for our employees and a better product for our customers and members.EAD is an Equal Opportunity EmployerDuties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
