Sr. Advanced FPGA Firmware Software EngineerMiddletown, Rhode IslandProgram/Project OverviewAs a Sr Advanced Onsite Support Firmware/Software Engineer for the Torpedo Systems Group, you will work with engineering teams to develop, deliver, and maintain software and firmware products. Additionally, you will be the government customer onsite and frontline engineering representative as needed and when new products are delivered to help with installation, troubleshooting issues, and assist in corrective actions across several development programs.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTSAn active Secret Clearance is preferred. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Duties and Tasks• Contribute to design, verification and documentation for FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) developments• Participates in architecture, system simulation and detailed design approach• Defines module interfaces and all aspects of device design and simulation• Evaluates the process flow including but not limited to high level design, synthesis, place and route, timing and power utilization• Verifies test results and analyzes performance• Develops and presents requirements, concepts, designs, decisions and results to internal management, other organizations, teammates and customer• Participates in the improvement of the FPGA organizational processes• Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle• Working in a Linux environment• Writing in C and Multithreaded programming• Working with Real Time Operating SystemsAdditional Experience Desired• Experience with FPGAs• Embedded software development using C and C++• Firmware development and defect tracking• Supporting customers through integration of firmware upgrades• Troubleshooting hardware and software issues• Experience with middleware• Experience using DMM and Oscilloscope equipment• VHDL experience• Xilinx experience• Experience supporting development activities on the software side of FPGA programsAdditional Information• Remote role with requirement to report into the office periodically• Required travel to Canonsburg, PA for approximately one month of trainingWhat sets you apart:• Contributes to the development of new theories and methods in FPGA#FPGA #FirmwareEngineer #EmbeddedSystems #VHDL #Xilinx #EmbeddedSoftware #Linux #RealTimeSystems #SecretClearance #EngineeringJobs #RemoteJobs #CanonsburgPA
