Job Shadow - Supply Chain

POSITION SUMMARYThe purpose of this internship is to provide talented individuals with a fully immersive experience in the supply chain industry through our Company. Interns will receive job training and experience in various areas within the Operations Department such as Asset Manager, Customer Service Representative and Load Planner. They will also be exposed to other departments within the company including, but not limited to, Driver Recruiting, Accounting, Fleets, Safety, Sales, and Pricing.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESRotates through our divisions of responsibility to shadow and train in a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:Transportation and Capacity PlanningProcurementCustomer Service ManagementSalesDriver RelationsContract NegotiationsAdditional responsibilities based on departmental need in order to gain experienceOne-on-one support with dedicated mentorsTrain in DOT regulations to ensure complianceGain experience and understanding of general transportation and logistics management principlesReceive and carry out instructionsMaintains regular and predictable attendancePerforms other duties as assignedPREFERRED SKILLSGood verbal and written communication skillsSelf-directed and able to work without supervisionEnergetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideasAbility to work well in teamsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareQUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSHigh school degree or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program and actively pursuing a degreePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS* Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
