Manager, Systems Engineering
Overview
In this role you will lead and optimize the systems engineering tools, processes, and risk management for Terran R. You will drive cross-functional collaboration to keep pace with a demanding launch ramp, shaping verification activities and stage testing while reducing technical risk. You’ll mentor engineers across teams and ensure architecture and trade decisions align with program goals. This is an opportunity to impact the vehicle, its lifecycle, and the broader program at a high-visibility level.

ResponsibilitiesLead the existing Systems Engineering process and drive improvements to enable fast, rigorous developmentCreate and roll out new, scalable processes; prune ineffective ones to support ambitious launch cadenceManage and mentor a team of engineers focused on risk reduction at subsystem and component levelsOversee requirements review and verification planning to ensure timely risk reduction before stage testingEnsure test objectives are well defined, aligned with stakeholders, and traceable across subsystemsProvide technical guidance to engineers in other departments to effectively burn down technical riskCollaborate with engineering leadership to balance rigor with speed across the programDrive decisions on trades, architecture, and process that shape first launch and long-term trajectory
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical field5+ years in system engineering, system definition, design, development, architecture, integration, and/or testing and evaluationFull product lifecycle experience on at least one program (preferably multiple)leadershipmentorshipcross-functional collaborationsystems engineeringrequirements managementdesign and development
