Lead Silicon Design Engineer

THE ROLE: We are seeking motivated individuals with a constant desire to address challenging problems on daily basis. As part of AMD's Virtual Bring-Up (VBU) central methodology team you will work across AMD's product portfolio to develop and enable methodology and tools to tackle key design cycle challenges for the company by leveraging acceleration, hardware emulation and prototyping technologiesTHE PERSON: You have excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrated through technical publications, presentations, trainings, executive briefings, etc. You are highly adept at collaboration among top-thinkers and engineers alike, ready to mentor and guide, and help to elevate the knowledge and skills of the team around youKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide support for internal customer engagement, enablement, support including issue triaging, debugging and escalationCollaborate on architecting and validating emulation systems for IP and SOC programsTake AMD designs through for alpha, beta and productions releases of emulation toolsetsDesigning and deploying virtual, hybrid and emulation/FPGA solutions to achieve AMD's software and verification Shift Left goalsUnderstanding multiple next-generation protocols and product architecturesEnabling silicon-oriented debug tools efficiently in emulation (including re-using tools like Coresight or aHDS with backdoor solutions)Driving standardization and automation across business units as well as technology platformsLeveraging DV solutions for monitors and collaborating on emulation friendlinessArchitecting and providing frameworks to enable cross-platform reuse of embedded code debug solutions PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Must have high-level programming (C, C++) abilityComputer Hardware design, development or verification backgroundsExperience with RTL design simulation and verificationGood understanding of Computer architecture, FPGA synthesis and prototyping flow experience is desiredVirtual Motherboard/Platform experience is a big plusExperience with scripting languagesComputer Science background is considered ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:Bachelor's or Master's degree in related discipline preferredLOCATION:Markham, ON#LI-PA1#LI-HYBRIDBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
