Director / Vice President, IT/OT (Data Center Infrastructure- Global) Europe - remote United KingdomDirector / Vice President, IT/OT (Data Center Infrastructure)Location Location:Global (Preferred: London, UK or United States)About Submer Submer designs and delivers end-to-end AI data center infrastructure built around industry‑leading liquid cooling.Through ourDesign, Build & Operate (DBO)model, we provide fully integrated infrastructure solutions-from site origination and development through to delivery and ongoing operations- enabling customers to scale AI with speed, efficiency, and sustainability.About the Role We are seeking a strategic and hands‑onDirector or VP of IT/OTto lead the convergence of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) across our global data center portfolio. This role is critical in driving reliability, scalability, and security of infrastructure supporting high‑performance computing environments, including next‑generation data center technologies.You will define and execute the IT/OT strategy, ensuring seamless integration across digital systems, physical infrastructure, and operational processes to support rapid growth and innovation.What You’ll Do Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a global IT/OT strategy aligned with business and data center growth objectives Build and scale high‑performing global IT/OT teams across multiple regions Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operational resilienceData Center & Infrastructure Oversee IT systems supporting mission‑critical facilities (DCIM, BMS, EMS, etc.) Ensure high availability, uptime, and performance of data center infrastructure Drive standardization of systems, architecture, and processes across global sites Partner with engineering teams on design, build, and commissioning of new facilities Lead integration between enterprise IT systems and operational technologies Establish secure, scalable connectivity between data center assets and enterprise platforms Implement best practices for OT cybersecurity, including segmentation and risk mitigationCybersecurity & Compliance Develop and enforce global IT/OT security frameworks aligned with international standards and industry best practices Ensure compliance with data privacy and infrastructure regulations across geographies Manage risk, incident response, and disaster recovery planningOperational Excellence Drive continuous improvement in uptime, efficiency, and cost optimization Implement monitoring, analytics, and reporting tools for real‑time visibility Lead vendor selection, partnerships, and contract negotiationsWhat You’ll Need Qualifications 12+ years of experience in IT, OT, or infrastructure leadership roles Strong data center experience (hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise environments) Proven leadership in IT/OT convergence within critical infrastructure environments Deep knowledge of: Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Building Management Systems (BMS) Network and systems architecture Experience scaling global teams and operationsPreferred Experience Background in high‑density compute, AI/ML infrastructure, or liquid cooling environments Experience with hyperscalers or data center operators Familiarity with edge computing, digital twins, and smart infrastructure Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, or relevant cloud certifications Strategic thinker with strong execution capability Ability to operate at both executive and technical levels Strong stakeholder management across engineering, operations, and leadership teams Results‑driven with a focus on scalability, efficiency, and innovationWhy Join Opportunity to shape the future of next‑gen data center infrastructure Work at the intersection of IT, OT, and advanced computing technologies Global impact in a fast‑growing, innovative environment Direct involvement in high‑impact, strategic deals at the forefront of AI infrastructure Opportunity to work across global markets and complex, multidisciplinary projects A fast‑scaling, entrepreneurial environment with real ownership and influence Competitive compensation, performance incentives, and long‑term equity participation You’ll be part of a fast‑growing scale‑up with a mission to make a positive impact, offering an exciting career evolution.Our job titles may span more than one job level.
