Partner/Senior Attorney
We are seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney with a minimum of 3+ years of experience to handle a diverse caseload primarily focused on personal injury matters, including car accidents, premises liability, and medical malpractice. This role involves both pre-litigation and active litigation responsibilities, with significant in-person engagement and direct client interaction. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing cases from intake through resolution.ResponsibilitiesManage a caseload in Common Pleas Court, focusing on personal injury matters (car accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice)Handle all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and attending mediationsTake and defend depositionsConduct pre-litigation work, including drafting demand letters and negotiating settlementsReview and analyze medical records and case documentationUtilize public databases for background investigationsCommunicate with insurance adjusters and oversee settlement proceduresMaintain and reconcile trust accounts in compliance with legal standardsConduct client intake, including fielding inquiries, meeting with prospective clients, and executing retainer agreementsCollaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case managementQualificationsActive license to practice law in South Carolina in good standingMinimum 3+ years of litigation experienceDemonstrated experience in Common Pleas CourtProven ability to take and defend depositions, manage discovery, and participate in mediationsExperience handling pre-litigation matters from a plaintiff's perspectiveStrong knowledge of personal injury law and case management processesExcellent communication, organizational, and client management skillsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in an in-person environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience in General Sessions Court and/or Magistrate CourtBackground in probate and estate planning, including drafting and litigation
