Primary Purpose of PositionPerforms advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of nuclear plant operations while acting as a resource and technical expert to engineers. Responsible for technical decisions. Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. Primary Duties and AccountabilitiesProvide in-depth technical leadership and expertise to develop, manage, and implement engineering analysis, activities, and programs.Directly fulfill engineering and technical leadership accountability regarding short-term and long-term programs that impact site operationsAssign and oversee technical tasks delegated to the team Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in implementation of engineering programs Recommend new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify operations, reduce costs, or comply with changes in codes or regulationsAll other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Emergency Response duties and/or coverage, Department duty coverage and/or call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.) Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or nuclear) OR related science OR License Professional Engineer OR Active/Inactive SRO License with 5 years of engineering or related experience, which shall include 1 year of nuclear power plant experienceMaintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties Preferred QualificationsPrevious engineering leadership/managerial experience Strong knowledge of engineering programs Experience with oversight and implementation of engineering programs at a nuclear power plant highly preferredPrograms that will be overseen:-Valves-Inservice Testing-Appendix J Leak Rate Testing/Inservice Inspection-Fire Protection-Vessel Internals-Piping and Snubbers Professional Engineer Registration Advanced technical degree or related coursework
