Citi’s Commercial Lending Management (CLM) organization is a core in‑business credit function within Citi’s U.S. Commercial Bank. CLM partners directly with Relationship Managers and Independent Risk to deliver disciplined underwriting, thoughtful risk management, and tailored lending solutions for commercial clients.We are seeking a Vice President, Credit Officer – Healthcare to join the CLM team in Irving, Texas, one of Citi’s most significant commercial credit hubs. This role provides end‑to‑end credit ownership for a Healthcare portfolio, supporting transactions ranging from working capital and term loans to acquisition and growth financing.This position is ideal for experienced credit professionals who want direct underwriting authority, exposure to complex Healthcare clients, and a clear path toward senior credit leadership.Role OverviewThe VP Credit Officer is responsible for managing a material level of credit exposure across Healthcare industry clients. The role partners closely with Coverage teams to assess new opportunities, structure transactions, and oversee ongoing portfolio risk—all while balancing Citi’s risk appetite with client needs.Key ResponsibilitiesCredit Underwriting & Portfolio OwnershipLead the end‑to‑end lending process for assigned Healthcare relationshipsPre‑screen pipeline opportunities with Relationship Managers to assess credit appetite and key risksPrepare, review, and challenge underwriting analysis for new transactions, renewals, amendments, and annual reviewsProvide accountability for credit decisions in partnership with Independent RiskRisk Management & MonitoringOversee quarterly and annual portfolio reviews, covenant monitoring, and regulatory classificationIdentify and escalate emerging credit concerns with actionable mitigation strategiesEnsure accurate risk ratings and minimize net credit losses across the portfolioExecution & DocumentationDirect and oversee loan documentation for new transactions and modificationsPartner with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure approved terms are properly documentedStakeholder PartnershipParticipate in client discussions and internal credit forums as a senior credit representativeProvide Healthcare sector insights to business, risk, and product partnersServe as a trusted credit thought partner across the deal lifecycleLeadership & DevelopmentMentor and develop junior credit professionals and officersContribute to technical credit skill training and best‑practice development within CLMRecommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and controlsRequiredQualifications & Experience6–10 years of experience in commercial credit underwriting, portfolio management, or credit riskBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related quantitative fieldStrong understanding of financial statements, cash‑flow analysis, and commercial/corporate credit structuresDemonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and articulate a clear credit viewExcellent written, verbal, and organizational skillsExperience within a large or regional financial institutionPreferredHealthcare industry credit experience preferred but not required — candidates with strong commercial/corporate credit underwriting backgrounds and demonstrated cash flow analysis skills are encouraged to applyMaster's degree or professional certification a plus------------------------------------------------------Job Family Group: Risk Management------------------------------------------------------Job Family:Credit Risk------------------------------------------------------Time Type:Full time------------------------------------------------------Primary Location:Irving Texas United States------------------------------------------------------Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:$114,720.00 - $172,080.00In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
