We are a career destination with over 6,000 colleagues who reflect the diversity of our community.TMH is the region's healthcare leader and top provider of advanced care with a 772-bed acute care hospital and the region's only:Level II Trauma CenterPrimary Stroke CenterLevel III Neonatal Intensive CarePediatric Intensive CareThe most advanced cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedic & surgery programs in the Panhandle.Our system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs and more than 50 affiliated physician practices.HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACTYour Role:Intermediate-level (unarmed) security officer position.Ensures colleagues,' patients,' and visitors' safety; patrols and surveils all hospital campus areas and responds to emergencies quickly and appropriately.Displays an understanding of diversity.Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values).Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients.Patrols and surveils hospital campus; provides unarmed security.Responds to emergencies and drills (e.g., infant/child abductions ("code pinks"), fires ("code reds"), disasters ("code greens") and violent/security events ("code greys").Investigates thefts, burglaries, automobile collisions, and other violations.Delivers medication and emergency shipments.Assists staff members with patients.Completes required training.Performs miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein.Reports To: Supervisor/Security (JC: 081001).Supervises: None.WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLYRequired Education: High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., certificate of high school equivalency.Required Experience: One (1) year of relevant, job-related work experience.Required Certification/License/Registry:Successful completion of the Field Training Officer (FTO) Program (provided by the Supervisor/Security).Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) credential from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).Blue Card certification from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).American Red Cross (ARC) first aid certification.Preferred Certification/License/Registry:Must earn the following to advance to Public Safety Officer III (JC: 080207):TASER certification from a certified instructor.Handcuff certification from a certified instructor.* Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is an equal opportunity employer and drug-free workplace.
