Salary: $0.00 AnnuallyLocation : MS, MSJob Type: Full-Time StaffJob Number: FY202600032Department: Office Of Athletic ComplianceOpening Date: 01/22/2026Job TitleAssociate Director, Athletic Compliance and Academic ServicesEssential Job FunctionsCoordinates, conducts and maintains a comprehensive recruiting monitoring systemReviews and approves all coach reimbursement requests and financial documents from the business officeResearches, prepares and presents rules interpretations for coaches, staff, student-athletes and the general publicAssists with rules education for coaches, staff, student-athletes, parents, university staff, boosters and the general publicCoordinates academic services for student-athletesMonitors class schedules, grades and student-athlete academic progress toward degreeWorks with student-athletes, coaches and the Office of Student Records on all add/drop requestsMaintains accurate and complete student-athlete and department files, including a Compliance manualMonitors and manages continuing eligibility/satisfactory progress in regard to academic compliance with University, SWAC and NCAA rulesProvides sports supervision for assigned sportsOther related duties, as assignedQualificationsMaster's degree in student services, counseling, education, social work or related fieldTwo (2) years' experience in NCAA Division I Athletic ComplianceKnowledge Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of relevant higher education laws, including FERPA, Title IX, and Clery ActKnowledge of NCAA Bylaws, especially Bylaws 13, 14, 15, and 17Knowledge of the retention processProficient computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office SuiteProficiency in social media as communication toolExcellent communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonalExcellent teaching, organizational and time management skillsExcellent supervisory skillsAbility to work independently, with limited supervisionAbility to make decisions-based on factual evidence and observationAbility to use multiple techniques to help students develop study, learning and testing skillsAbility to work with students who are dealing with various learning difficultiesAbility to intervene when students fall behind their peers academicallyAbility to prioritize assignmentsAbility to work cooperatively within a team environmentEEO StatementAlcorn State University is expressly committed to providing equal employment opportunities without regard to race, color, national or ethnic origin, ancestry age, religion or religious creed, disability or handicap, sex or gender identity and/or expressions, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state or local law.
