If you love gymnastics and want to teach what you love, this is the perfect opportunity to make a positive impact while doing something you’re passionate about.Instructional Areas May Include, But Are Not Limited To Recreational Gymnastics (girls artistic, boys artistic, trampoline, tumbling, parkour, and ninja) Competitive Gymnastics (artistic coaches – boys, girls, trampoline & tumbling coaches)For more information about the Seasonal Hiring process and application status for Prince George’s County Parks and Recreation, please contact Joelle Edmond, Joelle.Edmond@pgparks.com or Brenda Miller Brenda.Miller@Pgparks.com.Examples of Important DutiesDevelop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate gymnastics instructionProvide exceptional customer service to participants and familiesMaintain accurate attendance and track student skill developmentCommunicate effectively with staff, participants, and parents/guardianLead all scheduled classes in a timely and professional mannerEnsure a safe, clean, and organized training environmentAttend all required trainings, meetings, and program eventsRequiredMinimum QualificationsMust be at least 16 years of ageReliable transportationCombination of education, experience, or certifications relevant to gymnasticsPreferredExperience managing or supervising a gymnastics or recreational programPrevious coaching or instructional experience in gymnastics, tumbling, or related sportsSupplemental InformationMay be subject to drug and alcohol testing.Supplemental informationEmployment is contingent upon a favorable background check.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse populationsAbility to teach fundamental gymnastics skills (tumbling, balance, flexibility, coordination)Ability to create a fun, safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environmentPrior experience teaching gymnastics, tumbling, cheer, or working with children in a sports setting (gymnastics experience preferred).Competitive-level coaches must demonstrate advanced knowledge in their disciplineKnowledge of gymnastics techniques, progressions, and safety standardsCPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)USA Gymnastics (USAG) certifications (or willingness to obtain)Work hoursPart-time, year-round seasonal hoursFlexible schedule includes evenings, weekdays, and weekends.
