An established health insurance agency is looking for someone who is customer service minded with a positive, enthusiastic and professional phone etiquette, great attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team. This position will not include outside sales which means no cold calling, no hounding your friends and family and no worry about fluctuation in pay. This is not a commissioned position, meaning consistent compensation and great benefits.
Minimum Requirements:
- Licensed Health Insurance Producer in Oregon or be able to obtain your license and Marketplace Certification
- Three (3) years of customer service experience
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred:
-Experience in the insurance industry
-Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean or Arabic
Job Duties:
- Engage the public with patience and courtesy, both in-person and on the telephone to assess customer issues and determine the best course of action
- Prioritize work and maintain an adequate workflow under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Use critical thinking to complete complex reviews of data; ask questions to ensure accuracy
- Able to work with co-workers, clients and partners with professionalism and tact
- Maintain valid Oregon and Washington Health Insurance Licenses for this position as well as all state, federal and/or carrier certifications required for the scope of work assigned
- Submit applications, draft documents and correspondence, transcribe voicemail and schedule appointments using - - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and specialized database software
- Skillfully type at a high enough level to capture pertinent data during interactions with customers, without delaying meeting or call response times
- Personal effectiveness / credibility, flexibility and communication proficiency within a professional office environment
- Collaboration, punctuality and dependability are required

Hours:
- Full time
- Typical days and hours of work are Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m.to 5:30 p.m. between February and October; and Monday thru Friday, 9:00 a.m.to 6:00 p.m. November through January. Overtime and weekend hours may be required during peak season (Nov-Jan). Wage is based on experience
- A differential for those with bilingual abilities in Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean or Arabic
Wages and Benefits:
- $37,440 to $45,760 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
