Bilingual (Spanish) Manufacturing Team Lead (Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm)

Description: National Trade Supply is currently seeking a Bilingual (Spanish) Team Lead for our Air Filter Manufacturing division, located in Greenwood, Indiana. Team Leads are responsible for ensuring the daily activities of the production team to ensure smooth workflow and meet production goals. A successful candidate will possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and manage a team. They will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills (in English/Spanish) for coordinating with managers and team members. Problem-solving ability to handle challenges in real-time on the production floor and good organizational skills to manage workflow, staffing and materials efficiently are critical. Shift: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (occasional overtime required on Fridays (6:00am - 2:00pm) based on business needs) Responsibilities: Oversee the daily activities of the production team to ensure smooth workflow and meet production goals. Ensure that production schedules are met, adjusting staffing or workflows as needed to optimize efficiency. Quality Control: Monitor and ensure the quality of products being produced by performing regular quality checks. Identify any defects or issues in the production process and take corrective actions promptly. Team Management: Provide leadership and direction to a team of operators or technicians, setting expectations and ensuring adherence to company policies. Organize and delegate tasks to team members based on skills and production needs. Mentor and train new employees or cross-train existing team members on various processes. Safety Enforcement: Ensure that all team members follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment. Conduct safety inspections and report any hazards or incidents to management. Promote a safety-first culture by providing safety training and reinforcing safety guidelines. Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the production process and recommend solutions for greater efficiency and productivity. Implement lean manufacturing principles, 5S practices, or other efficiency-enhancing methodologies. Collaborate with management and other departments to drive continuous improvement efforts. Performance Monitoring: Track and monitor the performance of team members, providing feedback to improve productivity. Document team performance and provide reports to management on productivity, quality, and adherence to standards. Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Address any production-related issues or bottlenecks, ensuring minimal downtime and resolving equipment or material problems promptly. Act as the first point of contact for any technical or operational issues within the team. Reporting: Provide regular updates to supervisors or management on production output, team performance, and any challenges faced on the floor. Maintain records of production data, including work orders, output numbers, and downtime. Resource Management: Ensure that materials and supplies are available for production, coordinating with inventory and supply chain teams to prevent shortages. Manage and maintain production equipment, ensuring that it is in good working order and reporting any maintenance needs. Occasional lifting of items 2-5 lbs. in weight. Continuous use of arms, hands, and fingers to assemble, manipulate, and move filters. Occasional, minimal rotation at the trunk while working along the assembly line. Occasional reaching at shoulder height to pass filter components through glue coating machine. Rare lifting of filter media or cardboard frame stacks (less than 10 lbs.). 1x per day, lifting of bucket of glue for glue coating machine. The bucket is approximately 15 lbs. in weight. Work Environment: Work area is located indoors within a warehouse/manufacturing environment. The work area is not climate controlled so employees may be exposed to hot, cold, and/or humid climates depending on the time of year. The area has elevated noise levels, but not which exceed an 85 dBA 8 hour TWA. Employees may be exposed to environments with dust or other airborne particles in the air.
