ControllerLocation: Near Albany, NY Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 Our well-established manufacturing and services client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. This is a hands-on leadership role suited for a strategic, detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys partnering with executive leadership to drive operational and financial success. The Controller plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening internal controls, and providing insight that supports long-term business growth. Key Responsibilities of the Controller:Financial Leadership & ReportingPrepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to senior leadership Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations Budgeting, Forecasting & AnalysisLead the annual budgeting process and develop ongoing financial forecasts Partner with department leaders to manage budgets and improve financial performance Support strategic planning through financial modeling and scenario analysis Cost Accounting & Operations SupportOversee job costing, inventory valuation, and production cost analysis Collaborate closely with operations to improve cost visibility and profitability Identify efficiency improvements and cost-saving opportunities Internal Controls & ComplianceDesign, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets Ensure audit readiness and adherence to accounting standards and policies Strategic Partnership & Team LeadershipServe as a trusted financial advisor to executive leadership Translate complex financial information into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members Job Requirements Qualifications for the role of Controller:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required CPA or equivalent certification preferred 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience 5+ years in a senior-level accounting or financial leadership role Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls Solid understanding of GAAP Experience with ERP and financial systems; manufacturing or production environments preferred Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis Proven people leadership and team development experience Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills High standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment To see a full listing of all our open positions, please visit: https://www.redshiftrecruiting.com/jobs-hiring-near-meredShift Recruiting is the region's premier recruiting agency with over 100 years of combined experience in the recruiting field.
