Pay Rate: BR Schedule: Rotating schedule working a total of (7) twelve hour days over the hours of a two week period. Monday, Tuesday work Wednesday, Thursday off Friday, Saturday, Sunday work Monday, Tuesday off Wednesday, Thursday work Frida, Saturday, Sunday off Anything over 40 hours a week is OT There is a chance for additional OT The hours would be 3pm to 3am (after a couple weeks of training) Job Summary: The Production Supervisor is responsible for the assignment and coordination of daily workflow for the manufacture of dehydrated culture media products in the Detroit plant. Will oversee the manufacturing operations in the Peptone Manufacturing function. Must have an understanding of equipment, processes, and procedures related to product manufacture. May be required to rotate shift coverage. Duties and Responsibilities: Direct work activities of the employees in the Peptone Manufacturing Department. Coordinate in-process, qualification, and final assay testing. Coordinate experimental and small batch samples. Coordinate planning and production activity control. Coordinate daily qualification testing of department pH meters and other instruments. Maintain departmental records, such as equipment cleaning documentation and equipment maintenance records. Train and document new associates or current associates in new skills or retraining, to include Safety, Quality, SOPs, and PMs. Assures that all follow established occupational safety rules, housekeeping, Hazmat regulations, and SOPS. Attend to all departmental meetings including SAP related activities and requirements. Maintain a shift log which will provide direct written communication to the subsequent shifts pertaining to special instructions or information. This will include a daily shift report that provides a brief summary of events that occurred on the shift and highlighted events that need immediate attention by the Plant Manager. Make routine rounds of the entire facility to ensure production standards are met. Administers performance corrective actions. Minimum Qualifications: Fundamental knowledge of the manufacturing processes Fundamental knowledge in the natural and biological sciences Fundamental knowledge of mechanical systems Ability to work well with others Ability to organize, coordinate, and delegate work of subordinates within the Manufacturing center. Education: BA or BS degree or equivalent experience Experience: Three to Five years of demonstrated leadership in a GMP/ISO 9000 production environment in the Pharmaceutical or Food industry Preferred candidate will be familiar with SAP/Windows Must have demonstrated problem solving skills Capable of accomplishing goals through delegation. Must have the ability to make independent decision when required
