This includes maintaining accurate records and researching any discrepancies with the product. It is imperative to understand the layout of the warehouse to ensure the proper location of the product. Researching any damages/adjustments of product, tracking expiration dates, and alert management of any potential safety concerns that may arise. Within this department, you will ensure proper handling of damaged and/or spoiled merchandise, pulling and processing salvaged product, review and analyze inventory reports to identify trends, and work directly with various departments and local operations leadership to provide recommendations.Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday (Tuesday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM, Saturday 6:00AM-2:30PM)Pay: $22.75 per hour PLUS $2.00 weekend differential and $2.00 per hour freezer differentialJob ResponsibilitiesTrack and maintain SOX compliance relative to 3rd Party audit & Company standardsSchedules and coordinates all physical inventories and cycle counts including date checksPrepares physical inventory recaps on a timely basis for distribution to managementReviews and develops inventory control procedures as appropriateIdentifies and resolves all internal shrink problemsMonitor, process and analyze daily reports for inventory controlMonitors quarterly parts and supply inventories to ensure accuracyMaintains records retention program in compliance with corporate guidelines and policiesPerform basic slotting functions as neededResearch mis-slots and quality issues, verifies pick slots and back stock verificationMonitors and process store returns, driver check in process and salvage programsMonitors and process product velocity and track lost sales and in-house damagesProcess return to vendor requests in accordance with standard operating proceduresTrack food bank donations and salvaged productResponsible for proper handling of UNFI productCollect and relocate merchandises as necessary to correct inventory problemsProvide guidance regarding damages and returns for products that can be sold to salvage dealersSign and date all pick up documents and return to inventoryBuild stable, secure pallets with the pulled product and label with pallet number tagPull any product to be salvaged as directed by buying department, IC or chargebackCorrectly fill out chargeback paperworkMake accurate inventory adjustments in the systemCoordinate and load salvage pickups with salvage dealerCommunicate with all stakeholder departments including QC, inventory control, operations, procurement, reclaim, etc.Review, receive and respond to written and verbal communicationSafe operation of powered equipmentPerforms other relevant job duties as requiredJob RequirementsCapability of being licensed in operating powered industrial equipmentUnderstanding of Safety guidelinesStrong knowledge of applicable Bakco functions and RF systemsUnderstanding of all paperwork and reporting methods related to tracking inventoryUnderstanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processesStrong communications skills; both written and oral applicationsStrong interpersonal skills; must be motivated and take initiativeAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with othersAbility to be detail oriented and manage multiple tasksGood judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available Physical EnvironmentSome travel may be requiredAbility to lift between 40-60 pounds daily and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequentlyExposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery OperationAbility to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service proceduresMust be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipmentRequires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job dutiesAbility to operate work related equipmentMoving about the distribution center warehouse floorUNFI is an Equal Opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment for all.
