Assistant Controller
Summary:Responsible for all aspects of financial management, including accounting operations, regulatory reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and the development of internal control policies to ensure financial stability and compliance.Responsibilities:Oversee accounting operations such as billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, cost accounting, and revenue recognition.Deliver comprehensive financial analysis and updates to executive management on annual budgets and operating results.Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance reporting.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting and tax requirements, maintaining quality control over financial transactions.Calculate and issue key financial and operational metrics to support business decisions.Lead the preparation of regulatory reporting and research technical accounting issues, including financial aspects of mergers and acquisitions.Oversee and execute the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting.Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls and manage accounting records in line with retention policies.Qualifications:Proven experience as a financial controller.10+ years of combined accounting and finance experience.5+ years in a supervisory or management role.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree preferred.CPA or CMA certification is a plus.Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.Experience creating financial statements and managing general ledger functions, including month-end and year-end close processes.Strong accounting software skills; experience with QuickBooks Online preferred.
