Paralegal – IP DocketingLocation: Hybrid – Minneapolis, MN Our client seeks an IP Docketing Paralegal to join their intellectual property legal team in Minneapolis, MN in a hybrid work environment. You’ll collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to monitor deadlines across U.S. and international filings, helping protect clients’ innovations through organized and timely case management. Your work directly supports the firm’s mission of helping innovators secure and maintain their intellectual property rights.Responsibilities include:Maintain and update the firm’s IP docketing system (CPI)Review incoming correspondence and filings to determine docketing relevanceAccurately docket deadlines for U.S., PCT, and foreign patent and trademark mattersCalculate and track deadlines for new U.S., PCT, national stage, and foreign application filingsDocket Office Actions for U.S. patent, trademark, and PCT mattersTrack foreign actions, maintenance fees, annuities, and trademark renewalsDocket trademark declarations, Statements of Use, and TTAB mattersGenerate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly deadline reports to attorneys and staffFollow up with responsible attorneys regarding upcoming deadlinesEscalate urgent or missed deadlines according to firm protocolAssist with onboarding new matters into the docketing systemMaintain electronic IP files according to firm proceduresSupport docketing best practices and risk management proceduresParticipate in process improvement initiativesRequirements and Qualifications:4+ years of patent prosecution paralegal experienceHands-on experience with drafting, filing, and patent prosecution support workHands-on experience with template-based prosecution work and managing related deadlinesExposure to docketing software and USPTO / WIPO systemsParalegal certificate or equivalent experienceExperience with international filings/communicating with foreign associatesClear written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of discretion and confidentialityTeam-oriented mindset with the ability to work independentlyAbout the Hiring Company:Our client is an established intellectual property law firm founded in 1995 and dedicated to helping innovators protect their ideas through comprehensive patent prosecution services.
