Performance Tester

Overview In this role you will lead performance testing efforts to ensure scalable, reliable web applications for federal- government projects. You will collaborate with architecture, design, and development teams to translate requirements into measurable performance criteria and actionable improvements. By shaping test strategies and managing data, you help deliver high-quality systems on schedule. ResponsibilitiesSupport Test Lead in stakeholder management and status reportingCreate performance test approach and strategy from system design documentsEstablish verifiable performance benchmarks for system componentsIdentify clear performance requirements from vague metricsMap test cases to performance and integration requirements for coverageCreate and maintain test artifacts (plans, reports, dashboards)Manage test data creation and data loads for performance testsOversee shakeout testing and maintenance of the test environmentEstimate and schedule performance/stress testing effortsAutomate performance/load test scriptsExecute test cases/runs to meet targets and keep projects on scheduleAnalyze test data and recommend performance improvementsRecommend performance tuning to relevant teams (system, platform, application)Review test results and validate quality of test casesCommunicate testing issues/risks to Test Lead promptlyCoordinate with architecture, design, and development teams to resolve defectsWilling to work flexible hours for test executionStay focused on quality and timely delivery Key requirementsExperience with performance test tools (e.g., HP Load Runner, IBM Rational Performance Tester, Load Impact, Load Test)Ability to monitor, gather, and report application performance using load toolsUnderstanding of performance bottlenecks and end-to-end measures (server response time, throughput, latency)Troubleshooting skills in performance test environmentsExperience with IBM Rational Jazz Suite (Quality Manager, Test Workbench, Test Virtualization Server)Experience with test tools like TOAD, Benthic, SQL Server, SQL PlusExperience testing Siebel/CRM applicationsExperience with Oracle products (OSB, OPA, I&AM, BPA, BPEL, etc.)Programming knowledge in JAVA, PERL, JavaScriptStrong understanding of how web applications operate over HTTPExperience with Federal Government projectsExperience with DHS Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC)US Citizenship required (no dual), US Public Trust clearance requiredEffective communication (written and verbal)Analytical mindsetIndependent work ethic and team collaborationHP LoadRunnerIBM Rational Performance TesterLoad Impact
