Strategic Operations Associate

As a Strategic Operations Associate, you will help to shape this evolution by building scalable systems and leading cross-location initiatives. This role is designed as a launchpad, positioning you to quickly evolve into a business leader driving multi-unit operational strategy. Role OverviewWorking directly with executive leadership, you will bridge the gap between strategy and execution. You will build the scalable systems that drive key strategic initiatives, ensure team alignment, and establish the operational clarity needed to scale the organization. Responsibilities Project Leadership & Operational InitiativesOwn and execute high-impact initiatives by translating leadership goals into structured project plans with clear milestones. Initiatives could span any and all aspects of the business, including technology, labor and production.Coordinate teams to ensure on-time delivery, proactively identifying risks and removing blockers to keep initiatives on track.Ensure all completed projects deliver scalable, long-term operational improvements rather than one-time fixes.Labor Optimization, Planning & Operational VisibilityAnalyze scheduling performance across locations to identify gaps relative to labor targets, providing actionable insights to improve efficiency and cost control.Build and manage KPI tracking systems to monitor trends and future staffing needs, turning data into clear analysis for planning and decision-making.Establish and maintain consistent operating rhythms—such as meetings and reporting—to ensure team alignment and clear communication.Quality, Safety & Standards SystemsDesign scalable tracking systems for food safety, cleanliness, and product quality to ensure consistent execution across all locations.Identify operational breakdowns and perform root-cause analyses to drive targeted corrective actions.Build and refine SOPs, checklists, and training materials, organizing operational knowledge into clear, actionable playbooks.Who You Are4+ years in fast-paced operations, consulting, or project management. Bachelor’s required; MBA a plus. Degree in STEM, Economics or close equivalent is preferred.Highly analytical; you build scalable processes and systems instead of just applying one-time fixes.Detail-oriented with a bias for action. You take full responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks.Skilled at managing stakeholders and driving alignment across cross-functional teams.Advanced in Excel/Google Sheets (building models and dashboards). Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Make.com) or AI platforms is a strong plus. Compensation & BenefitsFull-time, on-site role based in Commerce, CA, with regular travel between bakery locations as needed. Mileage reimbursement is provided for work-related travel.Salary range: $80,000 – $110,000 USD. We are open to adjusting title and compensation for candidates who bring significant relevant experience or leadership impact.Performance-based bonus tied to individual and company results.Total compensation is determined by qualifications, leadership experience, and ability to drive operational impact.
