Source One is a consulting services company and we’re currently looking for the following individual to work as an on-site consultant to an autonomous vehicle company in S an Francisco, CA.* We are not able to work with third party companies for this role.Title: Instructional Designer (Contract)Pay Rate: $67.78/hourPosition Overview: Seeking an Instructional Designer to support the BaseOPS Technical Training team for an innovative autonomous mobility company. In this role, you will collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver engaging learning solutions that prepare teams to safely operate, service, and support autonomous vehicle technologies.The ideal candidate is an experienced instructional designer with a strong foundation in adult learning principles, exceptional content development skills, and the ability to translate complex technical information into effective, scalable learning experiences that drive measurable business results.Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop engaging learning solutions that align instructional objectives with business goals and technical training requirements.- Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and cross-functional teams to create blended learning curricula, including Instructor-Led Training (ILT), Virtual Instructor-Led Training (vILT), Online Learning (OLT), workshops, and eLearning.- Develop interactive eLearning content using tools such as Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline), Camtasia, Vyond, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite.- Apply instructional design best practices and adult learning principles to create learner-centered experiences.- Evaluate training effectiveness through learner assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, continuously improving content based on results.- Produce learning materials that adhere to company branding, documentation standards, and style guidelines.- Streamline content development by leveraging templates, standardized processes, and authoring tools to improve efficiency while maintaining quality.- Collaborate with product experts, service leaders, program managers, and technicians to ensure training reflects current products, processes, and strategic priorities.- Facilitate planning sessions and synthesize stakeholder feedback into actionable instructional strategies.- Travel up to 15% to support training initiatives across business locations.Required Qualifications:- 6–8 years of instructional design experience with expertise in blended learning, including ILT, vILT, OLT, and eLearning.- Strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies.- Experience designing engaging technical training for complex products or processes.- Excellent writing, communication, collaboration, and project management skills.- Strong conceptual design abilities with the capability to visualize learner journeys and instructional flows.- Experience developing learning evaluation plans and measuring training effectiveness.- Proficiency with Articulate 360 (Rise & Storyline), Camtasia, Vyond, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite.- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Engineering, or a related field.- Portfolio demonstrating instructional design work.Preferred Qualifications:- 2+ years of experience in the automotive, electric vehicle (EV), collision repair, or related technical industry.- Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal supervision.
