JOB SUMMARYWe are looking for a friendly, professional dining room assistant to join our hotel's Food and Beverage team. This role will include clearing and resetting tables while assisting the food servers in their duties and providing courteous, professional and efficient service to the guests. The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONSOperational ResponsibilitiesSet-up tables before openingStock and maintain service stations with the proper supplies before, during and after each shiftPromptly clear and reset used tablesRemove all dirty china and glassware from the front of the house and move it to the dish area to be cleanedTake soiled linen to the Laundry Department for launderingFollow a checklist every shiftWell-groomed, professional appearance and demeanor.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysCertification of completion in TABC and Food HandlerContribute positively to the team within the departmentPrepare for any and all guest requestComply with Valencia Hotel Collection (and its affiliates) standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates)Complete other duties as assigned by SupervisorKeep work areas clean and organizedBe extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employeesMaintain hotel equipment in proper working conditionsEffective multitasking skillsGuest ServicesMaintain knowledge of hotel services and amenities to assist guests with inquiries. Provide personalized service by engaging with guests, learning their preferences, and making recommendations.Greet all guest when they are arriving and departing the restaurant. Always maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor to enhance the guest experience.Study and practice our 18 Core Service StandardsTeam Support and TrainingAttend required meetingsKeep work areas clean and organizedBe extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employeesAttend in monthly Food and Beverage Meetings. Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on menu items, service standards, and company policies. Communication and ReportingCollaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest service. Report any incidents, accidents, or unsafe conditions immediately to management. Safety & ComplianceComply with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates) standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.Wear required non-slip footwear to prevent slips and falls. Comply with local and state laws regarding alcohol service, including verifying guest identification when necessary. BASICS Warmly welcoming and creating a refined, inviting restaurant atmosphereDisplay courteous behavior with guests and team membersFollowing all opening, shift, and closing proceduresMaintain a polish and well-organized work areasPerform any additional duties assigned by the supervisorMust be able to complete a checklist every shift. Weekly rehearsals to upkeep standards will be administered and utilized. Physical RequirementsSitting: Not applicableStanding/Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the shift. Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift and carry trays, glassware, and supplies (up to 50 lbs if applicable)Other Physical Requirements: Frequent bending, reaching, and light lifting required. Working EnvironmentInterior: Primarily located inside the hotel to include guest areas, restaurant, bar, lobby and kitchenExterior: Comfortable working outdoors if needed.
