Salary: $18.41 HourlyLocation : Soldotna Regional Sports ComplexJob Type: SeasonalJob Number: 202600003Department: Parks & RecreationOpening Date: 02/23/2026Closing Date: ContinuousSummaryThe City of Soldotna is recruiting for temporary full-time & part-time Campground Attendants for the summer season.These positions are open until filled. Applications will be reviewed weekly, with the first review on March 9th, 2026.The Campground Attendant position, under the general supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director, or designee, assists in the overall campground and day-use fishing fee area operation. The Attendant is responsible for registering campers, collecting fees, providing information on campground rules and regulations, and respond to any customer inquiries.Detailed Work ActivitiesCollect fees for camping, day use parking and other services. Prepare end-of-shift reports on revenue.Issue camping and parking permits, receipts, and keep accurate records of incidents.Greet visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Assist with information about the City of Soldotna camping and fishing area rules, amenities and other community attractions.May perform basic landscaping and seasonal clean up and preparatory duties within park and recreation facilities.Perform other duties, as assigned, by the Parks and Recreation Director or designee.Desired Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers.Ability to operate cash register, computers and iPads.Ability to interact professionally with public, handle complaints effectively, and provide helpful information.Ability to work well with others while also being self-sufficient in handling job duties.QualificationsBasic computer and cash handling knowledge and experience. Must be able to demonstrate interpersonal communication skills.WORKING CONDITIONS: This job involves exposure to temperatures ranging from 0 degrees to 80 degrees and variable weather conditions such as, but not limited to: snow, wind, rain, direct sunlight. Must be able to work in an environment where tasks change frequently, where different aptitudes, techniques, technologies, working conditions, procedures, physical demands and degrees of attentiveness without loss of efficiency or composure is required. Duties involve solving problems, making evaluations and reaching conclusions based on subjective or objective criteria.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires a moderate level of physical ability including vision, hearing, speaking, flexibility, and strength. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform general duties that may include, but not be limited to, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, dragging, and carrying; is required to use hands and fingers dexterously; is required to exert (often lifting) up to 50 pounds of force frequently and in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally. The employee will be regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, the ability to adjust focus, and the ability to judge distances and spatial relationships.
