Account Manager - Bay Area
About the RoleRIGOL Technologies is expanding its presence in the Americas and building a stronger commercial organization around a growing test and measurement portfolio. Our solutions now extend well beyond entry-level instruments, including high-performance oscilloscopes, RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and modular test systems. We’re looking for a driven Account Manager to help grow our presence in the Bay Area and Northern California. This is a high-impact, customer-facing role focused on developing new business, expanding strategic accounts, and positioning RIGOL as a credible alternative in the test and measurement market. The ideal candidate has experience selling technical products into high tech organizations and understands the test and measurement buying process. They are comfortable prospecting, managing accounts, qualifying opportunities, working with distributors, and selling against established competitors. This role is best suited for someone who is entrepreneurial, disciplined, and able to build territory momentum from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to not only drive sales, but also help build the process, operating rhythm, and culture of the new field sales organization. Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and grow a defined Bay Area / Northern California territory. Develop new business across strategic accounts, emerging companies, universities, research labs, and key verticals. Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities across oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, VNAs, power supplies, electronic loads, and related solutions. Identify and prioritize named accounts where RIGOL has a strong technical and commercial fit. Conduct discovery with engineering, procurement, lab management, and executive stakeholders. Collaborate with the AE team to deliver technical demos and evaluations. Position RIGOL against premium competitors by selling value, capability, availability, and total cost of ownership. Work closely with distribution partners while also developing direct customer relationships. Provide accurate forecasts, account plans, opportunity updates, and market feedback. Represent RIGOL at local events, customer visits, trade shows, and partner activities. Capture field intelligence on customer needs, competitor behavior, pricing pressure, and product gaps. Required Qualifications5+ years of outside sales, field sales, account management, or technical sales experience. Experience selling test and measurement, electronics, RF/microwave, semiconductor, embedded, power electronics, or other technical products. Strong ability to prospect, qualify, manage pipeline, and close business. Comfortable selling to engineers, engineering managers, procurement teams, and technical executives. Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage a territory independently with clear activity, pipeline, and forecast discipline. Willingness to travel locally throughout the Bay Area and Northern California. Preferred QualificationsExisting relationships with Bay Area technology, semiconductor, aerospace/defense, university, or electronics companies. Experience selling oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, VNAs, power supplies, or electronic loads. Familiarity with competitors such as Keysight, Tektronix, Rohde & Schwarz, Teledyne LeCroy, Anritsu, Siglent, or similar. Experience working with distribution channels, rep firms, or hybrid direct/channel sales models. Background in electrical engineering, electronics, RF, or related technical field. Startup, territory-build, or challenger-brand experience.
