Job Summary
The Master Instructor – Workforce Solutions delivers high-quality, hands-on technical training that prepares students and incumbent workers for immediate success in advanced manufacturing and industrial maintenance careers. This position provides classroom, lab, and on-site customized training for employer partners while helping learners develop both technical competencies and essential workplace skills.
The instructor collaborates with Workforce Solutions leadership, academic programs, and industry partners to design and deliver flexible, skills-based training aligned with real workforce needs. Instruction may occur on campus, at employer locations, or online and requires flexible scheduling including days, evenings, and occasional weekends.
This role emphasizes applied learning, safety, employability skills, credential attainment, and career advancement through engaging instruction that simulates real industrial environments.
Job Duties
Instruction & Student Learning
Deliver engaging classroom, lab, and hands-on technical training aligned to industry standards
Provide theory and practical application instruction in industrial maintenance and electrical systems
Create learning environments that simulate real industrial workplaces
Track student skill attainment and evaluate performance
Maintain records of attendance, progress, and competency achievement
Mentor students in both technical and employability skills
Maintain order, discipline, and a safety-first training environment
Curriculum & Training Development
Develop lesson plans, curriculum, and instructional materials
Adapt training for customized employer needs
Evaluate training effectiveness and update course content to match current industry standards
Implement flexible delivery models (in-person, hybrid, online)
Support credential preparation and workforce readiness outcomes
Employer & Workforce Engagement
Partner with employers to develop customized workforce training
Participate in industry visits, recruitment, and retention initiatives
Support workforce program growth and employer satisfaction
Participate in program planning and project coordination
Professional Expectations
Participate in professional development and maintain technical currency
Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and communication skills
Promote safety culture and proper shop practices
Assist with materials procurement and lab readiness

Minimum Qualifications
Associate\'s degree or equivalent and 4-6 years relevant experience
Able to teach a minimum of 85% the following:
Basic Electrical (AC/DC Fundamentals & Circuits)
Blueprint Reading
Basic Industrial Maintenance
Motor Controls
Power Tools & Shop Practices
Industrial Safety & OSHA-aligned practices
Pneumatics
Fluid Power
Hydraulics
Additional required skills include
Strong hands-on troubleshooting ability
Knowledge of adult learning theory and applied training methods
Ability to teach diverse learners and skill levels
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree and 8 years of industrial maintenance work experience.

Prior workforce or adult education training experience
Experience delivering customized employer training
Industry certifications (OSHA, NCCER, electrical, maintenance, etc.)
Previous experience in a community college setting
