Lead Fire Alarm InstallerVFP Fire Systems, a division of Viking Fire Protection Group, in Madison Heights, MI, is seeking a Lead Fire Alarm Installer to join our skilled team of technicians and support staff. We provide world-class fire protection services using cutting-edge technology, earning our clients' trust to protect their property. In this role, you'll be responsible for running fire alarm cable, installing devices, and ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality and compliance.ResponsibilitiesProgram and commission new fire alarm system installationsEnsure systems comply with electrical and fire codes.Explain and demonstrate system function and operation to end users.Exhibit excellent customer service skills by consistently communicating with company staff and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.Perform administrative duties including completing daily service acknowledgements, safety documentation, and other related duties as required.Required Skills/AbilitiesExtensive knowledge of the means and methods of installing fire alarm systemsExtensive knowledge and in-depth experience of applicable fire alarm codes and standardsThorough understanding of the means and methods of installing fire alarm systemsDemonstrated ability to use codes and standards to install fire alarm systemsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to read installation and system manuals.Ability to read blueprints and building plans.Ability to use hand and power tools to install hardware.Experience in Fire Alarm and low voltage installation required.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required.NICET 1 in Fire Alarm System strongly preferredMinimum 2+ years of fire alarm installation experience requiredAbility to work safely from heightsWilling to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and MVRPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders.Regularly ascend/descend ladders up to 16 feet.Physically able to install system hardware and wiring.Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time to a height of 3-4 feet.Perform general job duties at an elevated height via aerial lift.Pay Range$26/hr-$38/hr depending on experience and abilitiesBenefitsPTO, Profit Sharing, Gain Sharing, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401k with match, Employee Stock Purchase Program, Long-term disabilityEEO Statement/Affirmative ActionViking Fire Protection Group is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of religion, disability, protected veteran status, age, sex, race, color, national origin, or any other characteristic protected by lawViking Fire Protection Group complies with federal and state disability laws and will make reasonable accommodations for applicants and qualified employees with disabilities.
