In this civilian position in Flagstaff, you will join our Administrative Team, as part of the Support Services Division of our agency. This diverse team is made up of 5 Law Enforcement Specialist III’s that report to an Administrative Supervisor. Team members collaborate to achieve shared goals. Be part of this optimistic, innovative team where outstanding customer service creates dynamic solutions and engages leadership at every level.Under supervision performs administrative work of moderate difficulty; performs related work as assigned.Please NoteFor questions regarding this posting please contact the Sheriff's Office at 928-226-5069.Typical Duties(Illustrative only)Coordinates and schedules specialized departmental functions, meetings, and travelOversees an administrative unit's record management systems and databasesServes as lead staffMay supervise employees as assignedProvides training to assigned staffAssists with special projects as assigned Prepares and maintains statistical and administrative reports Gathers and prepares information for budgetary purposes Creates, processes, and distributes confidential and sensitive documents and correspondence Coordinates the preparation , distribution and preservation of departmental recordsCommunicates and acts as liaison with other departments, agencies and the public Attends meetings to represent the departmentComposes and types correspondence, contracts, reports and other documentsResearches pricing and vendors and prepares requisitions for needed goods and servicesMay perform research regarding grants and external sources of fundingMay take and transcribe meeting minutesMay receive and account for moneyEssential functions of this position include but not limited to: sitting; working with and around others; dealing with interruptions, repetitive motion (hand/wrist/ elbow/ shoulder) for computer work, filing telephones etc.; Vision Acuity (Near) computer work; hearing for communicating with others with phone calls, meetings; speech for telephone and ordinary conversation/ communication; touch for typing, filing, writing and phones.Minimum QualificationsFour years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience; OR, Associate’s degree and three years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience; OR, Bachelor's degree and two years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.Additional RequirementsMust pass background and polygraph including criminal history. Once in the position, must obtain Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) certification.The ideal candidate has Administrative and Customer Service Experience, is an excellent team player, eager to learn andhas previous Law Enforcement, Detention, and/or Court experience.Preferred Qualifications: Admin Experience; Customer Service experience; Data Entry and record management experience; works well on a team; Transcribes from dictation.
