Front Office Representative
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Greet visitors and patients upon their arrivalCheck patients in/outEstablish and maintain demographics and insurance informationVerify insurance eligibilityVerify receipt of primary care physician referral for HMO plansComplete system documentation as it pertains to meaningful useCollect payments and co-payments for all servicesFollow end of day deposit processesSchedule mutually acceptable appointment times for patients and physiciansSchedule ancillary testing appointments, both internal and externalNotify appropriate department of ancillary testing in order for them to obtain necessary authorizationsCheck upcoming schedules to insure that all appointments have authorizations, referrals and outstanding payment amountsComplete all “tasks” and orders in a timely mannerScan internal documents accurately into patient’s medical recordTrack supplies, including business cards and forms; inform administration when orders need to be placedSign for and disburse incoming imaging, equipment and suppliesDemonstrate courteous and helpfulness toward patients and their familiesDisplay flexibility in work schedule dependent on clinic needsOther duties as assignedMaintains strictest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA complianceQualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalentCertification/Licensure: Not requiredPay range : $15-$18/hr.Skills:Medical TerminologyBasic typing and keyboarding skillsStrong organizational and interpersonal sillsExperience with customer serviceFamiliarity with computers and other office equipmentAbility to maintain confidentiality of sensitive informationAbility to prioritize responsibilitiesMust be able to act calmly and effectively in busy or stressful situationsKnowledge of insurance plans and proceduresRequires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and peers.Physical Requirements:Requires occasional lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted. Requires frequent bending, reaching and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting.
