Beverage Assistant Manager

Job DescriptionPosition: Beverage Assistant ManagerDepartment: Food and BeverageJob Summary: Oversees the daily operations of the Beverage DepartmentDuties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):Oversees the daily operations of the Beverage department.Responsible for complying with all food and beverage health, liquor and safety regulations, as well as all federal, state and local applicable laws.Monitors job performances of all the Beverage department employees and provides feed back on same to aid the employees in developing and enhancing skills.Monitors performance of direct reports and approves performance appraisals.Reviews and approves all recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, evaluate, assign and discipline all employees in a fair and equitable manner.Responsible for the scheduling, evaluating and training of the Beverage department employees ensuring staff's compliance with all customer service standards.Responsible for listening to, evaluating and assuring control of customer grievances.Must maintain constant awareness of services, promotions and events to properly inform employees and guests.Must possess the ability to perform a high level of departmental training.Confers with beverage manager and upper management concerning operational deficiencies and areas in need of attention.Responsible for maintaining a consistent regular attendance record.Responsible for assisting with AVA Amphitheater and other events that upper management requires.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that may be stressful at times. Ability to inspire other team members to provide the highest level of guest service. Ability to stoop, bend, walk, reach objects above shoulder height and use hands. Ability to stand and walk for most of a shift. Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Mandatory Requirements:High School Diploma/GED and three (3) to four (4) years of beverage management or supervisory experience required. Two (2) years of event or convention food & beverage supervisory experience required. Must have knowledge of beverage purchasing, inventory control and scheduling. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and manage multiple areas at once. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S. Ability to obtain and retain valid gaming license. Must have valid Alcohol Awareness & Food Handlers cards.Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays and special events as needed.
