Information Security Intern
Location
On-site: Basecamp, Broomfield - The summer intern program will last 10 weeks: from June 1 - Aug. 7.
Summary/Objective:
This role assists in protecting the organization's information systems and data by responding and investigating alerts that are generated by various tools within the Information Security Program. Will learn how to assess security situations, evaluate trends, and suggest improvements or action items to reduce risk.
Essential Functions include
Assists with investigating and responding to security incidents, unusual activity, or potential threats. This includes analyzing and responding to events and identifying patterns or anomalies.
Assists in identifying, assessing, and managing vulnerabilities throughout the organization's technology portfolio. This includes scanning, validation, and confirming that remediation was complete. Additionally, may collaborate with other teams within the IT Department to prioritize & remediate based on risk levels and SLA's.
Assists with reviewing, documenting, and updating Logical Security Access to various applications and systems.
Contributes to the development and maintenance of security policies, standards, and guidelines.

Manager, Information Security

This role does not have supervisory responsibility.
Required Skills, Education and Experience:
Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Knowledge of fundamental information security concepts, such as network security, access control, data security, risk management, common attack vectors and incident response.
Familiarity with common security technologies and tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, vulnerability management solutions, EDR, and email security solutions.
Basic understanding of operating systems, networking protocols, and web applications.
The ability to write effectively, to explain information security in non-technical terms
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced and ever-evolving security landscape.
Work Environment
Elevations uses multi-factor authentication to keep our data safe. As such, a personal smart phone is a requirement for employment with us. This job operates in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Requirements
Sitting frequently, walking occasionally, use of hands frequently, hearing constantly, talking frequently, exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.

Full-time / 40 hours per week and Saturdays availability

Compensation
The candidate selected for this role will earn $25/hr.
