Emergency Medical Technician

AmWest is one of the fastest growing EMS providers in California. We are seeking part-time and full-time Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) for our Northern California operations based in Modesto, CA. Current positions openings in our Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, and Critical Care Transport divisions. We offer a variety of 10 and 24-hour shifts depending on operational demands. We're looking for part-time and full-time EMT’s to join our team. New grads are welcome. The EMT provides emergency medical care while transporting patients to and from designated healthcare facilities across Northern California. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, valid drivers and ambulance license, valid California EMT certification, and AHA BLS Provider card. Responsibilities: Provide emergency medical care to patients at scene or during transportation to a healthcare facility. Understand, know, and utilize local EMS Agency policies and treatment protocols. Safely operate an ambulance during normal and emergency response and transport conditions. Safely move, transfer, load, and unload patients at scene or at a healthcare facility Have a working knowledge of emergency medical equipment and supplies Operate radio systems that include dispatch to ambulance and ambulance to receiving hospital including the ability to transmit organized and concise patient reports. Create and maintain accurate and timely patient care reports on all patient encounters. Understand, know, and utilize company policies and procedures. Work within the chain of command and report adverse conditions or events Ability to promptly follow directions from management and dispatchers including responding and managing transport requests. Have a working knowledge of the area served including access to healthcare facilities. Ability to develop good working relationships and in proximity (front cab of ambulance) with other EMT’s for periods up to 10 or 24-hours.
