Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a cutting-edge automotive organization, is seeking a skilled Interior Design Engineer. This role is responsible for developing high-quality interior systems, supporting product launches, and collaborating across engineering and design teams to deliver premium vehicle experiences.NO C2C OR 3RD PARTY VENDORS ARE ALLOWED FOR THIS ROLE. ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ON OUR W2 WITH NO RESTRICTIONSJob DutiesDevelop and engineer interior components and systems with a focus on performance, safety, ergonomics, and craftsmanshipSupport packaging, design, release, and launch activities across multiple vehicle programsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, marketing, and vehicle engineering to optimize system integrationPartner with suppliers to ensure technical requirements, quality standards, and delivery timelines are metCreate and refine technical specifications and development plans to support program milestonesUtilize CAD tools to develop 2D/3D concepts, layouts, and DFM studiesEvaluate industry benchmarks, trends, and emerging technologies in automotive interiorsDrive continuous improvement through innovative engineering tools and development approachesSkills & ExperienceRequiredBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field4+ years of experience in automotive interior components or systems development (e.g., trim, instrument panels, consoles, headliners)Proficiency in CAD tools for design and packaging (CATIA V5 or V6 preferred)Experience developing technical product specifications and engineering documentationKnowledge of automotive interior systems, supplier capabilities, and industry standardsExperience supporting product development through vehicle launch phasesDesiredExperience completing full program lifecycle from concept through production launchKnowledge of plastic part design, injection molding, and manufacturing processesExperience with DFM, GD&T, and materials selectionUnderstanding of structural performance, ergonomics, and safety requirementsFamiliarity with homologation standards and validation processesExperience working in fast-paced product development environmentsBlue Chip Talent is an award-winning and woman-owned talent solutions provider based out of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
