PAINT PREP TECHNICIAN

General Description: This person will be required to do body prep on truck utility bodies, platforms, dumps, and other vehicle bodies. Position Expectation Statements: Complete quality vehicle surface preparation prior to body being moved to paint or liner booth. Able to multi-task and prioritize job duties. Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area. Prepare surfaces for paint per established standards Fill and sand body imperfections as needed Mask and protect vehicle surfaces Pre-fit and drill bumpers, ladder racks and other holes as necessary. Work safely in a production environment wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required. Able to meet production standards. Regular and predictable attendance. Ability to interact with others. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Attention to detail. Positive attitude and willing to learn. Preferred Training and Experience: Previous experience in the truck equipment industry or similar industry Able to maintain a neat, clean and organized work area. Basic auto body knowledge. Equipment, Tools Used to Perform the Essential Duties: 1. Putty Knife 2. Sanding Block 3. Pneumatic Palm Sander 4. Hand Grinder 5. Plasma Cutter Physical Demands: 1. Normal standing, walking, bending and twisting as necessary to perform job duties. 2. Exposed to normal seasonal temperatures. 3. Use of hand tools 4. Lifting/moving up to 75 pounds Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. through 2:30 p.m.
