Job DescriptionJoin our dynamic team as an Audit Leader, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and expanding our practice in the thriving Denver market. As the driving force behind our growth, you’ll collaborate closely with our Chicago Audit team, leveraging their expertise and resources to create impactful solutions for our clients. This person will be a visionary leader with a passion for audit excellence where you will be providing high-level client service, assisting, and managing all types of assurance engagements to clients within the investment partnership and private equity, broker/dealers, manufacturing and distribution, real estate, employee benefit plans, technology, and professional service company industries. The ideal individual will have experience cultivating strong client partnerships from the past or current set of clients and should be prepared to leverage those relationships. This position will be located in our Cherry Creek office in Denver on a hybrid basis.ResponsibilitiesGenerate new business opportunities for the Denver marketAbility to manage client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing financial statement engagements and managing engagement budgetBuild and maintain client relationships and manage all aspects of the client engagement processSupervise, train, and mentor associates and interns on the audit processIdentify and resolve client issues discovered during the audit processResearching, reviewing, and analyzing various new audit and accounting standards and communicating to team members and or clientsProvide relevant feedback to associates and senior associates on engagements for critical review items and performance-related mattersAssist partners on proposals and business development callsContinue professional development and training sessions on a regular basis RequirementsBS/BA in Accounting with Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licenseMinimum of 10 or more years of progressive audit experience with a public accounting firm and business development experience within the assurance service lineFamiliarity with and experience in the application of U.S. GAAP and GAAS to financial statement engagementsA passionate learner who welcomes opportunities to be stretchedAn entrepreneurial point of view in the Auditor roleAn energized professional seeking greater responsibility and more autonomy with clientsExcellent project management, organizational and analytical skillsStrong leadership and mentoring skillsDedication to providing superior client serviceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in MS Office, specifically Word and ExcelThe collaborative drive to contribute to a dynamic team environment as a true team playerPreferred RequirementsExperience in at least one of the following industries is highly preferred: investment partnerships and private equity; broker/dealers; manufacturing and distribution, real estate or employee benefit plansAbility to bring an existing client book of businessAbout UsListed as one of Inside Public Accounting’s Best of The Best Firms for the third time in four years, Topel Forman is a leading certified public accounting firm.
