EMPSPEJOBCHCH05042026-3JOB TITLE: Employment Specialist/Job Coach (Temporary)Bargaining Unit Status: Non-Bargaining UnitFULL-TIME (hours per week: 40) WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PMThis is a 10-week temporary assignment; the position may end earlier based on program needs or organizational discretion.EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:High School diploma or equivalent.EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of one year’s experience in a rehabilitation, non-profit facility, or comparable setting in the area(s) of case management, service provision, working with individuals with various disabilities, job development, job placement, follow-up, and trainingProficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and general computer operation is requiredExperience in marketing and public relations. Strong working knowledge of disability management and awarenessOTHER QUALIFICATIONSMust be authorized for coverage under agency insurance if operating an agency vehicle, have a good driving record, a valid driver’s license, and/or the required level of personal auto insuranceMust be able to satisfactorily complete a background check, per company requirementsAbility to communicate with tact and maintain confidentialityAdequate ability in communicating in spoken conversation – adequate volume of speechAdequate ability in writing/reading/mathematicsAbility to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with management and peersStrong organizational, project planning, and management experience with proven analytical and multi-tasking skillsSuperior listening, verbal, and written communication skillsProficiency in general reporting and basic case file managementIMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Team lead and/or Director of Vocational ServicesPOSITIONS SUPERVISED: NoneJOB RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:The Temporary JET Site Job Coach will work directly with other Phoenix staff and high school students with disabilities participating in the Job Exploration Training (JET) program. This 10-week position provides hands-on guidance, support, and instruction at assigned community-based work sites for participants. The Job Coach will assist students in learning job tasks, encourage positive work habits, and ensure a safe and successful training experience.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Complete training as assignedProvide information as requested for various statistical requirementsMaintain reporting and records as outlined by policy, referral source, and accreditation requirementsHave working knowledge of current contract requirements, AbilityOne regulations, CARF standards, social security guidelines, Phoenix mission/policies, departmental goals and objectives, and other sponsoring agency guidelinesSPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO THIS POSITION MAY INCLUDE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:Employment Specialist/Job Coach (JET) Job Exploration Training -Temporary PositionSupervise students at assigned JET community job sitesProvide guidance and support as students learn job duties and workplace expectationsOffer encouragement and instruction to promote independence and task completionMonitor attendance, engagement, and performance at the work siteServe as a liaison between Phoenix, the community sites, and the student to maintain positive relationshipsAddress minor work site issues or concerns and report them to program leadershipMaintain appropriate documentation of student progress, attendance, and site observationsFollow established safety procedures and reinforce them with studentsParticipate in team meetings, training, or briefings as requiredWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Adequate ability for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systemsAbility to be independently mobile on all surfaces and in all situationsAbility to move safely in the work areaAbility to retrieve items from high and low areasAbility to perceive size, discrimination, temperature, shapes, and/or texturesPhysical stamina to work at least 8 hours per dayBEHAVIORAL CAPACITIES:Must be able to change routine positivelyMust be able to follow through on assignments independentlyMust have good organizational skillsMust have a long attention span to listen to people, perceive real problems, and bring issues to a successful conclusionMust be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action for the organization at any given point in timeMust possess effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsMust be able to maintain confidentialityMust have stable work behaviors dailyMust have adequate individual coping skillsMust be able to maintain good work attendanceMust be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions even in emergenciesMust be able to exercise good judgment to maintain a safe work environmentNON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Other duties as assignedRATE OF PAY: $18.00 per hour "Phoenix is an equal opportunity employer.
