Surgical TechnologistSynergy Surgery Center is hiring a Surgical Technologist - Full-time. Our fast-paced Ambulatory Surgery Center is committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.Job Summary:Be responsible for providing surgical scrub on all types of minor and major surgical procedures dependent on individual competence.Ensure sterility of all supplies and instruments during set up of surgical procedures.Assist circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining sterile environment.Assist circulating nurse in gathering necessary surgical supplies and equipment. Is responsible for doing sponge, needle, and instrument count pre-operatively and intra-operative with the circulating nurse.Gown and glove surgeons and assistants.Assist in keeping physician preference cards accurate/updated.Retain all specimens to be sent to pathology, confirming source/name of specimen with surgeon.Transport all surgical equipment to appropriate cleaning areas. Assist in sterile supply with cleaning and reprocessing of instrument sets.Interact appropriately and effectively with all patients/others regardless of age or ethnic background.Use Standard Universal Precautions, appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment.Assist with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance and participates in emergency preparedness drills.Follow all equipment and safety guidelines and is responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment.Serve as a resource to other members of the health care team.Attend in-services, conferences, and meetings as required.Communicate effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, and their office staffs, patients, and employees. Maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy.Maintain designated certifications such as CPR, as offered by the hospital.Act in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center.Comply with Policies and Procedures, and adheres to safety guidelines to ensure a safe work and patient care environment.Support new hires and existing staff through precepting and/or orienting new hires and existing staff.QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experienceCertification as required by state and/or center3 years previous experience requiredPrevious experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferredMust possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patientUnderstanding of aseptic techniques and their implementationAbility to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the patient when neededMust excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physiciansPay Range: $33.00 - 40.00/hour (Wages are determined based upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications and years of experience).What We OfferMedical, dental, vision, and prescription coverageLife and AD&D coverageAvailability of short- and long-term disabilityFlexible financial benefits including FSAs and HSAs401(k) and access to retirement planningPaid holidays and vacationWho We AreAt USPI, we create relationships that create better care.
