Hourly Wage
ISS offers full-time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The hourly pay range for this position is $16.50 per hour - $17.50 per hour per hour.
Work Hours
The work hours for this position are Mon - Fri + Weekends, 6:00 pm - 5:00 am.
Key Purpose
Environmental Waste Operator are responsible for performing tasks associated with handling waste while making safety and compliance their top priority. These team members work successfully with fellow employees & others to collect waste and deliver it to appropriate and client approved waste facilities and receptacles. This position requires completion of duties year-round in all weather conditions where it is safe to conduct business.
Success Criteria
Arriving on time daily.
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules
Proper receiving and storage of all bio- and pharmaceutical waste containers
Ensure all equipment is in good working order.
Clean and sanitize the work area and waste containers as required
Removal and packaging of waste containers
Ongoing observation and documentation of changes to waste locations

Ideal Candidate Experience
High school diploma or equivalent education required
Passion for customer service.

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English
Requires ability to operate pallet jacks.
Valid Drivers License (if required by site)
Forklift Driving Experience (if required by site).

Prepare waste collection areas, ensuring that manufacturing areas have all necessary waste-collection supplies
All waste material to be delivered to appropriate and client-approved waste facilities
Maintain waste collection schedule and meet agreed performance metrics
Maintain waste collection documentation manually and digitally as required
Manage safety of self and others by monitoring and replacing signage in waste areas and on waste containers
Assist other departments as needed.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Must be able to understand one’s own physical limitations to the extent necessary to perform the necessary functions and tasks of the job
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must occasionally lift and/or move or push up to 75 pounds.
