Your role will be essential to our operations, ensuring that your contributions are valued and impactful within Kiewit Nuclear Solutions. The Structural Estimator is responsible for material takeoffs, cost analysis, preparation, and presentation of discipline estimates to leadership and stakeholders for large and complex projects. The position also involves the maintenance of historical databases while assisting in the development of department procedures. The targeted markets include but are not limited to Nuclear, DOE, and DOD contracts.District Overview: Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is a full-service engineering, project management, and construction provider operating across North America. Our rapidly growing nuclear solutions business has opened new locations across North America to strengthen our market presence while executing work within the communities we live within and support.Responsibilities:Review RFP to determine scope of work and estimate requirementsPerform quantity takeoff development from drawings, specifications, and other related documentationDevelop an estimate to support proposal creation and bid submittal documents, especially when it comes to complex pricing sheets (ie bid forms, bid tabs, etc)Determine labor, material, construction equipment, subcontract, and other direct cost for self-performed construction executionAnalyze crew structures for composite rate development in union, merit shop, and prevailing wage labor marketsLearn and become a subject matter expert with InEight Estimating softwareAlign bid packages to proposal requirements prior to being issued to subcontractors and vendorsEvaluate Quote Comparison Sheets once subcontractor and vendor pricing has been receivedBe involved with the construction execution plan, and upon project award, it is expected that the basis of estimate will serve as the actual plan for constructionAssist the Lead Estimator in identifying / mitigating risk and performing cost analysisParticipate in the estimate review process with internal and external team membersIf necessary, assist in customer presentation preparationDetermine project successes and areas for improvement by analyzing past cost from ongoing and completed projectsUpon successful contract award, assist with project initiation by conforming the estimate while working with business, project controls, and the production teamQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering / Technology and may be substituted with extensive and related work experienceMinimum of 3 years' experience in heavy industrial construction ($50M+) with emphasis on concrete or structural steelDetailed experience with concrete or structural steel including development of quantities and estimates from construction document hand take-off as well as model export methodsExceptionally strong attention to detailAbility to develop detailed estimate and project documentationStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to confidently present technical information to project stakeholders and leadership in a clear, concise, easy to understand mannerDemonstrate advanced skills with Microsoft ExcelOther Requirements:Regular, reliable attendanceWork productively and meet deadlines timelyCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environmentPerform work safely and effectively.
