By blending cutting-edge strategies, modern practices, tech-enabled solutions, and a commitment to visible impact, we envision a future where public sector organizations lead with confidence, operate with precision and efficiency, and deliver perceptible progress that people can see and feel in their everyday lives.The Momentum Firm’s rapidly expanding Data Analytics & Applied Intelligence practice helps governments and public sector organizations modernize data systems, strengthen governance, and use analytics and AI to improve service delivery and decision-making.About the RoleWe are seeking a strategic, entrepreneurial, and hands-on Senior Consulting Advisor (Data & AI)  to expand our Data & AI advisory capabilities across the U.S. This role will sit at the intersection of strategy, technology, organizational transformation, and digital innovation.The ideal candidate is equally comfortable advising executive leadership, designing AI-enabled transformation strategies, leading client engagements, and helping organizations responsibly adopt data and AI solutions that improve operations, decision-making, and community impact.As a seasoned leader within a start-up consulting firm, this individual will play a critical role in shaping service offerings, advising c-suite executives, leading engagements, and positioning The Momentum Firm as a trusted partner in the evolving Data and AI landscape.This is a part-time, as-needed, project-based role. The ideal candidate for this position has the desire and ability to work in a freelance management consulting capacity. ResponsibilitiesClient Strategy & Advisory Lead strategic consulting engagements focused on data modernization, AI readiness, analytics transformation, and digital innovation.Advise public sector, education, nonprofit, and social impact leaders on responsible and practical AI adoption.Develop enterprise data and AI roadmaps aligned to organizational goals, operational priorities, and community outcomes.Facilitate executive workshops, stakeholder sessions, and strategic planning initiatives.Translate complex technical concepts into actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.AI Integration & Emerging Technology Acumen  Identify opportunities to integrate AI, automation, and advanced analytics into organizational operations and service delivery.Guide clients through AI governance, ethical AI frameworks, risk management, and change readiness.Support the design and implementation of AI-powered workflows, knowledge systems, dashboards, and operational tools.Stay current on emerging trends in AI, public sector innovation, digital transformation, and data governance.Consulting & Project Delivery Lead cross-functional project teams and manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.Develop proposals, scopes of work, and client presentations.Establish methodologies, frameworks, and repeatable processes for Data & AI consulting services.Partner with leadership to shape the firm’s growth strategy and market positioning.Business Development & Thought Leadership Support ad-hoc business development efforts including relationship building, networking, proposal development, and client acquisition.Contribute to thought leadership content including articles, presentations, workshops, and insights related to Data & AI in the public and social sectors.Requirements7+ years of experience in consulting, data strategy, analytics, enterprise architecture, AI transformation, digital transformation, or related fields.Experience advising executive stakeholders and leading strategic initiatives.Strong understanding of: AI and machine learning applicationsData governance and data strategyBusiness intelligence and analyticsOrganizational transformation and change managementResponsible and ethical AI practicesExperience managing client-facing engagements and cross-functional teams.Exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.U.S.-based with ability to travel as needed.PreferredExperience working with public sector, higher education, nonprofit, or social impact organizations.Familiarity with modern data platforms, automation tools, cloud technologies, and AI-enabled business solutions.Experience building or scaling consulting practices, service lines, or innovation programs.Advanced degree and/or experience in computer systems, business, data science, technology, or a related, relevant field preferred.BenefitsFlexible working-scheduleInnovative work environmentCompetitive compensation (retainer-based)
