P2's ingredients serve the personal care and fragrance markets, delivering performance and sustainability to global customers.The Analytical Associate Chemist provides analytical support with a primary focus on stability testing of products, including sample setup, testing, documentation, and data reporting. This role operates in a collaborative lab environment, supporting both analytical and synthetic chemistry teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing time-sensitive testing schedules, while communicating effectively with team members when results deviate from expectations.Work Schedule:Standard hours are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET, Monday through Friday.Flexibility is required to support occasional overtime or weekend work based on testing schedules and business needs.Responsibilities / Job Functions:Perform stability testing for a range of products, including setting up samples, executing tests, and recording results according to defined timelinesManage and track time-based testing schedules, ensuring samples are tested and removed at required intervalsAccurately document all data in compliance with ISO-controlled formats and internal proceduresPrepare results and submit data for review and approvalSupport analytical and synthetic chemistry teams by testing and analyzing samples from ongoing reactionsCommunicate promptly and clearly when unexpected or out-of-spec results are observedPerform wet chemistry techniques including titrations, extractions, and related proceduresOperate and maintain laboratory instrumentation; perform basic troubleshooting, calibration, and assist with preventive maintenance schedulingProvide analytical support for advanced instrumentation (e.g., NMR, FTIR, GC-MS), including travel to offsite locations (Naugatuck, Yale) as neededMaintain accurate and organized lab notebooks and recordsWork Environment & Growth Opportunity:Work within a collaborative team of 5 chemists, requiring strong communication and teamworkOperate in an ISO-controlled laboratory environment with structured procedures and documentation requirementsOpportunity to gain exposure to analytical method development, validation, and verification as the team continues to innovate and scaleRole may include some overlap with QC responsibilities as neededSafety Responsibilities:Comply with all company safety policies and proceduresFollow proper handling, storage, and disposal procedures for chemicals and laboratory wasteRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Hands-on laboratory experience (academic or industry) requiredExperience with wet chemistry techniques (e.g., titrations) strongly preferredFamiliarity with analytical instrumentation such as GC, HPLC, FTIR, UV-Vis, etc. is a plus (hands-on experience not required)Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time-sensitive testing schedulesDetail-oriented with strong documentation habitsEffective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to lift up to 50 lbsWillingness to work overtime or weekends as neededEducation and Experience:B.S. in Chemistry or related field required0–2 years of experience (including academic lab experience)Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply; extensive on-the-job training providedWhy Join P2 ScienceWork with proprietary, differentiated green chemistryHigh level of ownership and autonomyDirect impact on product development and commercial successCollaborative, fast-moving, and mission-driven team environmentOpportunity to shape a technology pipeline from the ground upConnecticut Innovations and its portfolio companies are equal opportunity employers.
