Senior Human Resources Generalist

Our client, a scientific non-profit organization, is seeking an experienced Senior HR Generalist to join their team!Senior Human Resources Generalist (Contract to Perm) Location: Hybrid 1-2x onsite (Pasadena) Duration: 3–6 months with potential for extension or conversion to permanent Compensation: $100K–$150K Overview A mission-driven, globally connected organization is seeking a seasoned HR professional to support a dynamic and evolving workforce. This individual will operate as a strategic partner to leadership while also remaining hands-on across core HR functions. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to both operational excellence and longer-term people initiatives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees on a wide range of HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, and organizational planning Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts across a variety of roles, partnering closely with hiring managers to drive efficient and thoughtful hiring processes Design, refine, and implement HR programs, policies, and procedures to improve effectiveness, compliance, and employee experience Manage complex employee relations matters, including investigations, coaching, and resolution strategies Support and enhance performance management frameworks, including goal setting, feedback cycles, and calibration processes Oversee onboarding initiatives and contribute to broader employee engagement efforts Partner cross-functionally to align people strategies with business objectives and workforce planning needs Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations; provide guidance and training to mitigate risk Maintain and analyze HR data, systems, and reporting to inform decision-making and improve program outcomes Contribute to culture-building initiatives, internal communications, and employee programs that support engagement and inclusion QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field 6+ years of progressive HR experience, including strong exposure to recruiting and employee relations Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment Strong knowledge of employment laws, particularly within California Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, coach, and build relationships at all levels Highly organized with strong analytical skills and attention to detail PreferredAdvanced degree in a related field Experience supporting technical, scientific, or specialized hiring environments Exposure to global or multi-location workforces Spanish language skills are a plus Work EnvironmentHybrid schedule with occasional in-office collaboration Standard office setting with a collaborative team culturePlease submit your resume for consideration!We will consider qualified candidates with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring.
