Senior Human Resources Generalist

Our client, a scientific non-profit organization, is seeking an experienced Senior HR Generalist to join their team!Senior Human Resources Generalist (Contract to Perm)Location: Hybrid 1-2x onsite (Pasadena)Duration: 3–6 months with potential for extension or conversion to permanentCompensation: $100K–$150KOverviewA mission-driven, globally connected organization is seeking a seasoned HR professional to support a dynamic and evolving workforce. This individual will operate as a strategic partner to leadership while also remaining hands-on across core HR functions. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to both operational excellence and longer-term people initiatives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees on a wide range of HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, and organizational planningLead full-cycle recruiting efforts across a variety of roles, partnering closely with hiring managers to drive efficient and thoughtful hiring processesDesign, refine, and implement HR programs, policies, and procedures to improve effectiveness, compliance, and employee experienceManage complex employee relations matters, including investigations, coaching, and resolution strategiesSupport and enhance performance management frameworks, including goal setting, feedback cycles, and calibration processesOversee onboarding initiatives and contribute to broader employee engagement effortsPartner cross-functionally to align people strategies with business objectives and workforce planning needsEnsure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations; provide guidance and training to mitigate riskMaintain and analyze HR data, systems, and reporting to inform decision-making and improve program outcomesContribute to culture-building initiatives, internal communications, and employee programs that support engagement and inclusionQualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field6+ years of progressive HR experience, including strong exposure to recruiting and employee relationsDemonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environmentStrong knowledge of employment laws, particularly within CaliforniaExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence, coach, and build relationships at all levelsHighly organized with strong analytical skills and attention to detailPreferredAdvanced degree in a related fieldExperience supporting technical, scientific, or specialized hiring environmentsExposure to global or multi-location workforcesSpanish language skills are a plusWork EnvironmentHybrid schedule with occasional in-office collaborationStandard office setting with a collaborative team culturePlease submit your resume for consideration!We will consider qualified candidates with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring.
