Sous Chef
**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic team in the food service industry. As a Sous Chef, you will play a critical role in supporting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen and ensuring the smooth operation of our food service. **Responsibilities:**
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, ordering, and inventory management
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks, line cooks, and dishwashers
- Oversee food preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency and quality
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new recipes and improve existing ones
- Manage the flow of food in the kitchen, ensuring timely delivery of dishes
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards
- Develop and manage budgets for food and supplies
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive dining experience
- Manage banquet and catering events, ensuring timely and high-quality service
- Work closely with the hospitality team to coordinate service and ensure seamless operations
**Skills:**
- Proven experience in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in the hospitality or food industry
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
- Excellent culinary skills, including cooking, plating, and presentation
- Ability to manage a team, including training and mentoring staff
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in food service, banquet, and catering events
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work well under pressure
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Proficiency in food cost control and inventory management
- Experience in bartending and food service, including serving and taking orders
- Familiarity with kitchen management software and inventory systems
- A passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
