Director of Supply Chain and Procurement
Summary:
The Director of Supply Chain and Procurement will be responsible for improving our multi-site supply network. This role manages all phases of sourcing including identifying cost saving opportunities, assuring continuity of supply, creating competitive environments, negotiating and generating contracts. This role will drive strategic initiatives to optimize our supplier relationships and procurement strategies, oversee logistics, planning and purchasing to ensure supply chain continuity, cost-effectiveness, efficiency and adequacy of our sourcing and procurement processes.
Responsibilities:
Maintain purchase contracts and vendor data
Establish and maintain reliable sources of supply to ensure timely procurement of goods, services and materials
Deploy mitigation strategies to avoid supply chain shortfalls and continuously evaluate alternative supply sources
Use analytic techniques to support procurement projects
Manage supply chain data by designing, producing, analyzing, continuously improving, and presenting monthly logistics and supply chain metrics, measuring operational and financial performance against company specific objectives
Manage the company’s supply portfolio ensuring spending transparency
Request and analyze quotes/bids to aid in negotiations and identify best overall solution
Utilize benchmarking to identify best practices, trends, and improvement areas
Plan and implement supply chain optimization projects such as warehousing, inventory management, cost optimization, and route planning, to meet customers’ requirement
Gather data to populate and report progress via supplier scorecards and internal dashboards
Track, manage and report cost savings as well as working capital improvements
Identify gaps in policies, processes and procedures
Communicate effectively with senior leadership to provide regular updates on procurement performance and initiatives
Discover and implement the most cost-effective shipping modes and schedules
Develop trust amongst cross functional teams so when conflicting priorities or other issues arise you can ensure that all involved understand the issues and agree with the solutions
Develop supplier relationships in a way that results in both parties benefitting from the relationship
Maintain best practices in procurement to ensure product safety and food safety compliance including but not limited to: supplier screening and approval process, vetting for compliance to good manufacturing standards, defining clear specifications for all major and minor ingredients, help implement quality assurance measurement at every stage of procurement
Provide leadership and mentorship for direct reports
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in related field required
10+ years of experience required
Plastics/resin/chemical experience highly desired
Strong written and oral communication, analytical, decision-making, problem solving, and computer skills required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
